Washington, Baltimore metro area lead U.S. in positive test rates as hospitalizations in Maryland continue to decline

Federal officials identified Baltimore and Washington Friday as leading the nation’s metropolitan areas with the highest positive coronavirus testing rates, leading all other urban regions in the ratio of confirmed cases to the number of people swabbed. The news came as the state reported 893 new confirmed cases and 47 more deaths.
